Fresh from Cow to Table

Maola Milk, part of the Maryland & Virginia Milk Producers Cooperative Association since 1920, proudly promotes 100% fresh, 100% local milk from family-owned farms across the Mid-Atlantic and Southeast. Teaming up with my agency, the brand launched the “Love What’s Real” program in partnership with MilkPEP, connecting Maola Milk with local culinary experts to celebrate and promote real, family-produced milk.

The Task

Milk is frequently underestimated as a cooking ingredient, typically regarded only as a tasty and healthy beverage. Our goal was to reframe the perception of milk and present it in a fresh and captivating light. To achieve this, we collaborated with a renowned local chef to showcase milk as a culinary star, demonstrating its versatility by seamlessly integrating it into homemade recipes.

The Method

Chef Lee Gregory, co-owner of Alewife and Executive Chef at Southbound, renowned for his use of locally sourced ingredients, partnered with us. GQ Magazine lauded his culinary expertise, naming Southbound the “Best New Restaurant” in 2019. Together, we produced videos featuring Chef Gregory incorporating various Maola products into unique recipes like Milk Chocolate Panna Cotta, Buttermilk-Brined Fried Chicken, Milk Roasted Chicken, and Milk Cake. A social media campaign on Facebook and Twitter highlighted our chef partnership and Maola Milk’s role in MilkPEP’s initiative, complemented by educational messages on the benefits of milk.

The Result

Our strategic collaboration resulted in a highly successful social media campaign that delivered impressive outcomes for each brand. We had a great experience working alongside Maola Milk, Chef Lee Gregory, and MilkPEP to craft an engaging series of content that resonated well across all platforms.
